Steel Church Stands Strong in Trinidad

Faith Assembly International in Brazil Village, Trinidad is standing strong in their new church home. The long journey was made possible with theTrinidad Church assistance and resolve of the congregation. Under the direction of Pastor Anthony Archibald, they built a 7,200 sq. ft. prefabricated structure from Allied Steel Buildings where they could worship. Over a decade earlier, Pastor Anthony was called to Brazil Village on a crusade for Jesus Christ. In the beginning he had a small following, each year it grew. In those days, service was held in the community center on Thursday evenings, but with the growing congregation Pastor Anthony knew it was necessary to find a permanent home for the church.

Pastor Anthony formulated a plan and eventually purchased land in Brazil Village. He chose Allied Steel Buildings to provide the prefabricated church; he knew pre-engineered steel buildings cost less than conventional buildings and they could withstand the occasional high winds that affect the islands. Pastor Anthony studied building design and with the assistance of Allied Steel, planned the structure for his church, a 7,200 sq. ft. building with ample room for the growing congregation. While money was raised and construction completed, service was held in tents Pastor Anthony placed on the land where the new church would stand.

With the help of Faith Assembly International members, construction began in July and finished in October. Pastor Anthony was blessed to have the assistance of the congregation to complete the church, specifically a civil engineer and two metal erectors. Pastor Anthony's vision is fulfilled, from the Thursday night worships at the community center, to the temporary tents and ultimately the new church. They are standing strong and have seen an increase in members since moving into their new house of worship. The steel structure allows for more than 350 seats on the ground floor, with additional seating available on the mezzanine, carefully planned out by Pastor Anthony with room to grow for the faithful.
